When a potential donor or email subscriber visits a page where you’re requesting him or her to take action (maybe from an online ad or a click-through in your e-newsletter)—a.k.a. a “landing page”-- you have a limited opportunity to get their attention, encourage them to donate/subscribe, and/or have them share your cause with their friends. You can always try to figure out ways to increase traffic on your donation page, but if you don't also look at increasing conversions, you're wasting valuable resources.
